With only a few months left until it is decided which team will be crowned Premiership champions, we decided to look back over the season so far.
We invite you to vote for which player you think deserves to be named Premiership player of the year.
Each month, our boys who play fantasy football and follow the EPL decide who they believe should be awarded Player of the Month. It’s been an interesting season as all but one of the players who have been nominated as player of the month have been English – Argentinian Di Maria the single exception.
Angel Di Maria, Raheem Sterling and Saido Berahino
Angel Di Maria scored in Manchester United’s 4-0 demolition of QPR, and also in their dramatic 5-3 loss to Leicester with a well-taken chip.
Raheem Sterling scored in Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Southampton in the opening fixture of the season, and also scored in Liverpool’s 3-0 win over Spurs a few weeks later.
Saido Berahino scored goals for fun throughout the season, including scoring in West Brom’s three games in October versus Liverpool, Man Utd and Crystal Palace, which rounded off a run of scoring in five consecutive games.
Englishmen Nathaniel Clyne, Charlie Austin and Dwight Gayle
Nathaniel Clyne has played consistently throughout the season and is arguably one of England’s first choice full backs. Clyne scored a great goal versus Aston Villa after making his first appearances for England versus Slovenia and Scotland.
Another English talent featured in the goal scoring charts, with Charlie Austin scoring goals despite QPR’s poor away record during the first half of the season and the team fighting a relegation battle.
January winner Dwight Gayle helped Crystal Palace claim a premiership win in their first match after Alan Pardew took charge in early 2015. Gayle scored a penalty in their 2-1 win over Spurs, before scoring twice in Palace’s 3-2 win over Burnley.
February winner Harry Kane could have won previous months, but scooped the award after scoring both goals in the 2-1 win over London rivals Arsenal, and also hit the net against Liverpool and West Ham.
