September was full of all the positivity as we had some incredible updates from one of our key fundraisers – Ride25!

Ride25 brings together business leaders, founders and CEOs to take on incredible cycling feats to raise money to help 1moreChild.

Their impact is immeasurable.

September saw the cyclists set off from Geneva to Milan on a 4-day cycling spree on the second highest road in Switzerland over the Alps and through the Nufenen Pass.

Kinder words are difficult to match to those said by Barry Van Bergen, one of Ride25 Ltd‘s donation raising cyclists –

“Having spent my youth in Africa and having engaged in community projects, I’ve seen first hand how desperate poverty can play out in the streets with very little upsides and how charities often try to help. I don’t think I’ve ever encountered a charity that’s made such a measurable impact as 1moreChild. The results speak for themselves; Harry and the team at 1moreChild are doing something incredible, not just offering these kids a path forward but actually delivering it to such an incredibly high level. Qualified doctors, pro cycling team signings, people racing at the world championships. These are opportunities that would never have been possible without an incredible dedication and drive to make it happen. …And what have our residents been up to?

Well, it’s back to school for them and they have been kitted out in new gear to get them prepped – thank you all for your kind donations. They truly make a difference to our residents!

We would like to take the time to give a special shout out to our lovely Pauline, who recently qualified in midwifery. The hearts of our residents really do make us proud, and Pauline has decided that whilst she waits for a paid position, she will volunteer her skills in the meantime so she can give back to her local area. It is a beautiful act of kindness, and we wish her all the best in her work as a volunteer and in her future career.
