Alice: A Nurse’s Dream Realized
Our wonderful and compassionate Alice has reached a monumental milestone in her nursing journey. This year, we proudly celebrated her graduation as she officially became a registered nurse in Uganda, complete with a practicing license! Alice’s determination and resilience inspire us all, and we can’t wait to see where her career takes her as she embarks on this new chapter.
Christine: A Passion for Words and Change
Christine, a 1MoreChild resident since 2015, has always been driven by a passion for storytelling and journalism. With a love for books and a heart committed to amplifying marginalized voices, she recently completed her primary education with our support. Christine’s heartfelt message to all of us resonates deeply:
“Please continue with the vision of 1MoreChild. Your support has transformed my life, and I know it can do the same for countless others.”
Christine’s story is a testament to how education and encouragement can spark lasting change.
Esther: From Charcoal to Classrooms
Joining 1MoreChild in 2015, Esther’s life transformed from collecting charcoal on Jinja’s streets to pursuing education and dreaming of becoming a teacher. This year, she successfully completed her primary education and continues to inspire others with her message:
“Stay in school and focus on education. Better things are ahead.”
Her journey reminds us that education has the power to rewrite futures and create endless possibilities.
Paul: Pedaling to Gold
Paul’s journey with 1MoreChild is one of perseverance and athletic triumph. Inspired by the achievements of Ride25’s fundraising efforts, he took up cycling and trained tirelessly. In 2024, Paul made history as the first male Ugandan cyclist to win a gold medal in the individual time trial under-23 category at the Continental African Championships. His record-breaking success reflects the determination and spirit nurtured through 1MoreChild.

In November 2024, Robert, a resident since 2015, celebrated a major milestone by completing his sixth year of secondary education. But that’s not all—Robert’s artistic talent shone brightly as he secured third place out of 338 participants in a prestigious national arts competition. His dedication and creativity earned him well-deserved recognition and prizes, proving that nurturing artistic potential can lead to incredible achievements.
Anolere Bryan Moses: Gratitude and Giving Back
Finally, we share the story of Anolere Bryan Moses, who joined 1MoreChild in 2016 while in Senior 3. Through the organization, he discovered a love for volleyball, chess, and debating, which helped build his confidence and skills. Recently, Bryan achieved his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and is now volunteering as a Junior Accountant in Jinja City. Reflecting on his journey, Bryan shared:
“I am deeply grateful to God for bringing 1MoreChild to Uganda and for their unwavering support for children like me. Thank you, 1MoreChild, for everything!”
Bryan’s dream is to one day give back to the organization that shaped his path.
